The only solution I see is an air-layer.
simple carve out the deadwood at the botom back to like wood and bark cut and shape a piece of the trunk and nebari of a dead larch depending on how big you want it to be phoenix graft it how youve done to other trees treat the dead wood let the tree rest feed it as the bark takes over the graft and in no time youll have a decent lookin tree. let me knoe if im not making myself clear. i think this is better then airlayering.
